New Delhi ,Nationwide student protests have erupted due to accusations of paper leaks and other irregularities in the NEET medical entrance exam. Daily revelations about the leak continue to surface, with attention now centered on Sanjeev Mukhiya, suspected to be the main figure behind the scandal.
Sanjeev Mukhiya, also known as Sanjeev Singh, hailing from Nalanda district in Bihar, has been pinpointed by officials as the suspected orchestrator of the recent controversy surrounding the medical entrance test.
Reports indicate that Sanjeev Mukhiya has been connected to exam fraud for the past twenty years. He previously worked as a technical assistant at Nalanda College’s Noorsarai branch and has been associated with various instances of paper leaks, such as the well-known 2016 Bihar Public Service Commission constable recruitment exam leak.
It is claimed that he leads a group known as the ‘Solver Gang’ alongside Ravi Atri, providing leaked exam papers and proxies for exams. The investigation has uncovered a vast network that spans from constable recruitment tests to teacher recruitment exams in various states, demonstrating the extensive scope and influence of their activities.
Mamta Devi, the wife of Mukhiya, holds the position of chief in Bhuthakhar panchayat. She acquired this role after receiving a ticket from the Lok Janshakti Party. Meanwhile, Shiv Kumar, Mukhiya’s son, is currently facing legal issues due to his alleged participation in a separate exam paper leak case associated with Bihar’s teacher recruitment exams.
The controversy erupted after an unusually high number of students scored a perfect 720 in the NEET-UG exam. Initially attributed to grace marks due to a faulty question and logistical issues, subsequent investigations by Bihar Police uncovered a different aspect: the exam paper had been leaked to select candidates a day before the exam.
Sanjeev Mukhiya is suspected of masterminding the dissemination of NEET-UG question papers and answer sheets for the 2024 examination, as per authorities. It is reported that he obtained these confidential materials through mobile communication, which were provided by an unidentified professor. The search for him continues, as law enforcement agencies escalate their efforts to apprehend him amidst an expanding crackdown on his alleged network.
